Evening Vespers
You enter the sanctuary quietly to hushed tones of nighttime sounds. The walls are dark wood with evenly placed sconces flickering their dim light. The aisles are lined with red threadbare carpet barely able to muffle your careful footsteps. The centuries old pew creaks as you take your seat. You bow your head to quiet your mind and still your soul. The sounds of others' prayers and whispers are almost distracting, but quickly fade. The heavenly tones of a choir echo from somewhere down the labyrinthine halls.
