Heaven
From the beginning of human history, man has been on the search for heaven on earth, Nirvana, their Shangri-la, the utopia, the skies. But where is it exactly? Is it really somewhere up in the sky? No one truly knows. Many suggest that searching for heaven is like searching a never ending illusion. Some suggest heaven can be found where ever you decide to look – in our hearts, our minds, in love and in happy moments. Heaven can also be our state of mind and a figment of our imagination. Heaven is also understood as a place where God dwells. We try to connect with heaven by focusing ourselves on meditations, prayers, dreams and quiet reflections.
Through religions we have similar outlooks about heaven, and this has helped us all create an image of heaven in our minds eye. How does it really look? Does it have huge gates made of gold? Does it really have beautiful gardens with beautiful clear rivers, with birds and angels singing soft melodies? We have all imagined our heavens in various ways. Knowledge beyond our deepest dreams defines heaven – the knowledge that exists all around us with the all-pervading sounds and music around us. Heaven is within us. We can only try to understand heaven through our thoughts, the sounds and nature surrounding us.
